Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in cloud technologies infrastructure design and implementation to join the team. You will design implement and manage cloud infrastructure solutions while streamlining operations improve scalability and optimize costs. Working from within the infrastructure team and tightly with team members from Engineering Acceleration on DevOps and platform projects.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture
Design deploy and maintain secure scalable and resilient cloud environments across public private and hybrid cloud platforms.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand application requirements and provide cloud solutions.
Work directly with stakeholders to understand their requirements for a cloud solution.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred) to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
Implement best practices for version control and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Cloud Platforms
Work with major cloud service providers: Azure and AWS to deploy and manage cloudbased solutions.
Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Security and Compliance
Implement security best practices to safeguard cloud environments.
Manage access controls encryption and security monitoring.
Monitoring and Optimisation
Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address issues.
Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance.
Collaboration and Support
Collaborate with platform and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Document configurations procedures and best practices.
Share knowledge and experience to upskill the wider team and business.
Stay up to date on emerging technology trends and promote the use of cloud services throughout the business.
Skills and experience required:
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role using AWS and Azure.
Experience implementing Cloud Management Platforms.
Strong knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform CloudFormation or Ansible.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash PowerShell Python).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
Handson experience of managing Windows and Linux workloads.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Azure Solutions Architect)
Experience with multicloud or hybrid cloud strategies.
Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Adaptability to a fastpaced evolving environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in crossfunctional teams.
Availability for oncall support as needed.
