Legal Director Marketplace UK
This could be your chance to practice pioneering law for an innovative global tech company! eBay seeks an agile and creative senior attorney to join the legal team leading eBays UK Marketplace Legal team.
We are looking for leaders who want to build a marketplace that brings people together to spark unexpected joy. Does this sound like you If so wed love to talk to you.
What you will accomplish:
- In this role you will lead a team develop and inspire of talented UK Lawyers who support and guide the business team in general legal matters
- Develop and support the legal strategy for key areas ensuring compliance as a major ecommerce platform.
- Work as part of a global leadership team sharing best practice and fostering a strong and cohesive culture across different regions and teams.
- Enable our internal teams to deliver an outstanding buyer and seller experience embracing the appropriate level of smart risk.
- Build strong working with functional groups within the Company on both transactional work and policy review including Finance Accounting Corporate Development Marketing Tax Information Security Privacy Trust and Risk.
What you will bring:
- 12 years of postqualification experience in the technology space with a preference for multijurisdiction platformbased business models
- Ability to develop inspire and manage a team of legal professionals
- Proven record of thinking strategically and working across a complex matrix of global collaborators providing strong legal analysis but also practical business recommendations
- Independently manage and deliver across a number of toppriority projects for yourself and your team
- Ability to build positive relationships quickly and interact with junior to senior business leaders with ease
- Excellent communication analytical and problemsolving skills
- Flexible and agile problem solver with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to cherish innovation be a change maker and believe that there is always room for improvement
- Flexibility with the scope and variety of projects to be undertaken
Experience in the following areas desired:
- Privacy/data protection
- Regulatory
- Intellectual property
- Consumer protection
- Commercial structuring drafting and negotiation
- UK qualified lawyer
