About the Role
The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible in providing a safe clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
Under direction and supervision of Environmental Service Coordinators you will provide effective support contributing to the operational support of the hospital. Youll be working within a fastpaced teamfocused environment within the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.
Joining our team you will be responsible for:
Highest standards of cleanliness to all areas including wards and operating theatres.
Ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
Adhere to all infection control guidelines and principles.
About You
Prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is desirable
Availability to work morning / afternoon / evening and weekend shifts required
Proven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as required
Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
Proven experience with hazard identification
Understanding of hygiene principles.
Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available Desirable
Additionally you will:
Perform all cleaning tasks including decontamination of beds and cleaning of Wards and equipment Desirable
Perform all is to transport patients duties between departments/wards and soiled linen tasks (Laundry Management) decontaminate all bins and securely manage the Clinical WasteDesirable
Assisting nursing staff with lifting/positioning patients (as required) and bed making.
Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management.
