Our client a growthfocused Canadian insurance company specializing in property and casualty products is looking for a Senior Construction Underwriting Specialist to help lead the development and execution of their construction underwriting portfolio.
With a strong foundation and a forwardthinking mindset our client is entering an exciting phase of strategic growth in the construction space. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building new products writing underwriting guidelines and driving innovation in a collaborative environment.
Lead the underwriting of Course of Construction (COC) and WrapUp Liability policies with a focus on mid to largescale commercial and infrastructure projects.
Develop and execute underwriting guidelines appetite statements and referral protocols aligned with corporate objectives.
Collaborate with senior leadership to build and launch a new construction product offering from the ground up.
Underwrite individual accounts with sound judgment and a disciplined approach to risk selection.
Work closely with brokers to establish and grow strong distribution relationships.
Analyze market trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction underwriting with strong expertise in COC and wrapup programs.
Proven ability to write and implement underwriting guidelines and program frameworks.
Confident communicator who can engage with stakeholders and brokers with authority and professionalism.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to build lead and innovate in a highpotential market.
CIP/FCIP designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset.
A contract role to start with strong potential for fulltime permanent conversion.
