The Role
The Events Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests at events and weddings serving food and beverages at various locations throughout the farm and ensuring a pleasant and memorable experience for guests. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and serve beverages including wine beer and cocktails as well as nonalcoholic beverages.
- Serve food and clear tables throughout the event ensuring that the event space is clean and wellmaintained.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces including bars tables chairs decorations and other equipment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and standards including proper handling and storage of food and beverages.
- Operate point of sale systems and handle payments from guests.
- Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members including kitchen staff event coordinators banquet captains and other servers and bartenders to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently.
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to guests for food and beverage selections with a strong focus on Saunders cider sales.
- Uphold a high level of cleanliness and organization in the event space and behind the bar.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- SmartServe required.
- Previous experience working as a server and/or bartender in a fastpaced environment preferably at events and weddings.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of guests and staff.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and the ability to prepare and serve them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required licenses and certifications.
