Department: Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDIM) Interventional Radiology
Reports to: Operations Lead Interventional Radiology
Shifts: Rotating 8 hour shifts across weekdays & evenings. OnCall shifts as needed (Casual Shifts: Must be available for all shifts. Day Evening and Night shifts including on Weekends and Stat Holidays)

Position Summary

Interventional Radiology is a stateoftheart specialty that combines advanced imaging to perform lifechanging minimally invasive procedures across the whole bodytransforming patient care without traditional surgery. Our department has a proud history of pioneering treatments and pushing medical boundaries to redefine whats possible.

The team is made up of nurses medical radiation technologists interventional radiologists surgeons and anesthetists who all work together to provide incredible patient care.

Duties

  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to perform Interventional Radiology procedures using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation clinical standards and departmental procedures
  • Provide exceptional care to patients families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
  • Effectively communicate with interprofessional and multidisciplinary teams
  • Work accurately safely and efficiently in a fast paced high patient volume setting
  • Participate in professional development teaching and educational activities and mentoring as required
  • Coordinate daily work schedule prioritizes emergency/addon cases as required

Qualifications :

  • CMRITO registration
  • CAMRT registration preferred
  • Completion of a BCLS program Level II: Basic Rescuer certification with maintenance of certification
  • Related technologist experience in a hospital environment an asset
  • Current enrollment in/completion of the CAMRT Interventional Radiology Specialty certificate program an asset
  • Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
