What Youll Do
As the Active Transportation Coordinator youll lead efforts to advance multimodal transportation planning and community health initiatives. Responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning and Program Development
Implement and monitor the CWATS Master Plan
Develop tracking tools evaluation strategies and CBSM campaigns
Create interactive resources such as webbased mapping tools
Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach
Lead public consultations and stakeholder engagement activities
Promote the benefits of active transportation across diverse audiences
Design newsletters social media content and educational materials
Education and Awareness
Coordinate Countywide safety campaigns focused on walking and cycling
Engage schools employers and community agencies to increase participation
Support programming through events and partnerships
Partnerships and Collaboration
Coordinate with area municipalities and external agencies
Chair meetings and present to the CWATS Committee and municipal councils
Identify funding opportunities and assist with proposal development
Administration and Reporting
Track and report on project progress and performance
Prepare briefings recommendations and updates for senior leadership
Oversee the administration of funding applications
What You Bring
Education and Commitment to Growth:
University degree in Planning Engineering (preferred) Urban Planning Public Health or a related field
Preferred Certifications:
A professional designation in Planning or Engineering is required
A masters degree is considered an asset
Experience and Expertise:
At least 3 years of experience in active transportation planning and/or promotion
Proven success managing multistakeholder programs and community engagement
Experience in public sector or municipal contexts preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Strong project management stakeholder engagement and analytical skills
Knowledge of planning/engineering principles and Ontario Traffic Manuals
Proficiency in digital tools GIS/mapping Microsoft Office and social media platforms
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Other Requirements:
A valid Class G Ontario drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for workrelated purposes
Ability to provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract and Police Information Check
