The Recreation & Leisure Centre is responsible for the planning coordinated development management and implementation of recreation leisure therapy and volunteer activities programs services and initiatives to the residents of a municipal long term care facility.
Within one of the citys Long Term Care Facilities (Garry Armstrong Carleton Lodge Centre daccueil Champlain or Peter D. Clark Centre) you are responsible for implementing and facilitating a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities for residents. Duties include designing program tailored plans to resident needs consulting with the resident nursing staff and other medical/professional service providers to ensure programs meet the physical social emotional and spiritual needs of residents with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement.
Completion of 2 year community college diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies Therapeutic Recreation Kinesiology or other related field
Minimum of 1 year of related experience working with seniors geriatric patients/clients or longterm care residents which includes recreation planning and implementation.
