Material Developer (Component Developer at H&M)

WHAT YOULL DO

As a Component Developer you have ownership in securing component development process end to end which involves component risk assessment securing quality based on H&Ms requirements. And ensure best options in terms of quality price and lead time in alignment with assortment expectations.

WHO YOULL WORK WITH 

What is Production Its the place where design ideas are transformed into actual products. We are in over 20 sourcing markets and are the direct point of contact for local suppliers. We work to ensure our products are of good quality and produced at the best price and in a sustainable way.

WHO YOU ARE 

We are looking for people to  

• Secure the best options in terms of quality price and lead time aligning with customer expectations and sustainability goals
• Material innovation fabric testing cost optimization and bulk readiness ensuring high quality sustainable products aligned with brand standards and market expectations
• Utilize a deep understanding of the Assortment concept customer preferences and strategic goals to identify suitable suppliers and maintain a sustainable T2 supplier base
• Understand fashion trends and interpret global shifts to source new components from reliable suppliers
• Develop suppliers within the product flow fostering capabilities growth managing complexity and promoting selfreliance aligned with customer expectations
• Identify and develop new components in local markets emphasizing sustainability in both soft and hardliner components
• Collaborate with the development and business teams to communicate and maintain a transparent component strategy ensuring the entire team is informed and aligned

And people who have:

• Academic background in Textile Engineering having MBA/PGD is a plus
• 57 years of working experience in similar role with Knit/Jersey products preferably in textile industry
• Translate design needs into technical solutions collaborates with design sourcing sustainability and quality teams
• Have good knowledge on material costing able to handle various tools and system
• Businessminded with strong component price knowledge and negotiation skills from a global perspective
• Have a proactive and problemsolving approach to both identify and apply solutions to challenges connected to product development
• Strong on communicating and collaborating with global teams as well as material and garment suppliers
• Have a good understanding of the local component supplier base and support in keeping it relevant and updated to match the global fashion trends and strategies within the BU and H&M
• Collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders to coexecute the strategies and activities set from Assortment and Production
• Ability to multitask and manage various project elementssimultaneously
• A flexible strong sense of responsibility ambitious and result driven team player
• Learning Mindset good communicator organized and good at planning critical thinking and having data literacy skill
