About the opportunity
The Executive Officer is an integral part of the CODES administration team and works under the general direction of the Director CODES. The key purpose of the position is to provide efficient lean and responsive administrative support for the delivery of CODES postgraduate teaching and research activities.
The position will be responsible for creating and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the efficient delivery of research projects (including higher degree by research candidates) and postgraduate coursework teaching. The primary focus and responsibility of this role is the efficient and effective coordination administration and compliance management of travel undertaken by members of CODES including relevant student and volunteer travel.
What youll do:
- Provide broad administrative assistance and advice to CODES staff students visitors and volunteers.
- Work proactively and collaboratively with the College Services and School of Natural Sciences office teams to facilitate clear communication and ensure the implementation and operation of relevant School procedures and policies within CODES (and where relevant) Earth Sciences.
- Provide knowledgeable advice and direction monitor regulatory compliance and coordinate and/or administer all CODES travel activity.
- Continuously review make recommendations and implement risk management improvements to CODES/Earth Sciences travel related procedures to grow efficiencies and compliance with School College and University level policy and procedure.
- Receive and respond to general enquiries directed to CODES.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the line manager.
What were looking for:
- Completion of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Advanced administrative support skills with ability to recognise and accurately prioritise work use discretion and apply sound judgement.
- Welldeveloped digital skills with advanced word processing spreadsheeting email and internet software competencies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- An ability to work independently within established guidelines while using initiative and judgement.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $102190 comprising base salary within the range of $78210 to $87342 plus 17% superannuation.
