Location: Wellington NSW
Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal communitycontrolled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual family and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.
Our main services are in Wellington Dubbo Moree Western Sydney Penrith Nepean and Blue Mountains and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.
The Transport Officer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support advocate and liaise for the Wellington community within the Clinic environment. The position provides the first point of contact for clients entering the clinic. It is responsible for a high level of customer service processing appointments and client data. The position primarily provides transport services to assist the day to day operations of the clinic and health program and provide a quality client service.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Maintain the privacy and dignity of clients at all times.
- Ability to oversee and support the operations of a demanding clientfocused work environment
- Develop and maintain relationships with the community to increase engagement and access to services
- Computer skills including experience with patient appointment programs and patient information
- Maintain a log/record of all journeys/pickups
- Responsible for cleaning maintenance and reporting of any damage to the vehicle
- Work with the organisation to ensure we remain a childsafe organisation.
- Operation of vehicle and use of petrol card to be in line with WACHS procedures
- Ensure that all information provided is given in a culturally sensitive manner and in terms that are understood by all parties as demonstrated by their improved health literacy
Experience Qualifications & Licenses:
- A Certificate of Aboriginality.
- A Current National Police Check.
- A Current Working With Children Check NSW.
- Current Australian Drivers License.
- COVID19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medical exemption).
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate with local Aboriginal people.
- Computer skills including experience with patient appointment programs and patient information recall systems.
- Willingness to undertake professional training and development to support the Medical Receptionist roles and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and current issues affecting lives of Aboriginal people.
