Job Description

Epworth HealthCare is offering a permanent part time opportunity (15.2 hours per week) for a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to join our Acute team in Richmond.

In this role you will be responsible for assessing and managing swallowing and communication impairments in adults across a diverse range of specialties. You will work as part of the Acute Speech Pathology teams and report to the Speech Pathology Team Leader/ Allied Health Manager.

You will be part of the Richmond acute speech pathology team and report to the Speech Pathology Team Leader and Allied Health Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing expertise and specialist care in swallowing and communication disorders 
  • Demonstrating competency or emerging specialist skills in some areas of acute speech pathology (e.g. VFS FEES Tracheostomy acute neurosciences ICU) 
  • Providing supervision to speech pathology students and junior staff

You will have:

  • An ongoing drive to continue to learn and develop patientcentred evidencebased care
  • A strong ability to demonstrate compassionate care
  • Ability to demonstrate respect to all those you work with and the patients whose care you are involved in  
  • Ability to adapt and grow in a changing healthcare landscape
  • Experience in conducting quality improvements to improve the care of patients
  • Welldeveloped communication skills
  • A strong commitment to workplace and patient safety
