Working arrangements

Hybrid

Successful applicant must work full time on site for 3 months or until they understand the department s ICT landscape requirements and project objectives. Flexible working arrangements may be considered afterward subject to approval per the Department s operational needs and ICT Contractor WFH Guidelines. Contractors must be onsite at a Departmental location at least 3 days per week. Remote work costs (eg travel accommodation utilities equipment etc) are the contractor s responsibility.

Job details

Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects writing optimised code and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.


Key duties and responsibilities

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

  • Designing and implementing Siebel configurations scripting workflows and business services;
  • Investigating and triaging technical issues and provide solution options to the project team;
  • Understanding of functional specifications and the ability to work with business analysts to clarify solution requirements;
  • Implementing and adhering to Siebel section standards (including design development and unit testing standards);
  • Developing and maintaining key documentation and ensuring they are appropriately stored in the department s recordkeeping repository;
  • Providing development effort estimates for changes to existing applications and new applications;
  • Contribute to broader performance improvements enhancements Siebel upgrade development and debugging;
  • Providing code reviews and other quality assurance tasks for projects;
  • Liaising with project team members in other ICT teams business stakeholders internal and external users including departmental service providers.

Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department s recordkeeping policy and practices.

The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

  • Technical Designs including data models and ERD s;
  • Unit Testing;
  • Technical Verification Documents;
  • Technical training materials;
  • The Siebel and Support Wiki site including:

Development Standards;

Technical Framework documentation.

All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must:

  1. be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; and
  2. meet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time.

Criteria

The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.

Essential criteria

1. 5 years of development experience on Siebel IP17 onwards

2. Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools including Agile and version control systems.

3. Technical experience and knowledge of at least one of the following; RestAPI Web Services MQ JavascriptBIP Reporting Web development or Open UI.

4. Expertise in Siebel tools including configuration scripting and integration techniques.

5. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills

6. Experience in complex programming debugging data analysis and problem analysis.

Desirable criteria

1. Experience working in large government organisations.

2. Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

3. Excellent organisational and time management skills

4. Strong ability to manage competing priorities with a strong sense of accountability and urgency
