You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a detailoriented proactive Safety Specialist to lead all transportationrelated safety efforts across the organization. You ll be the primary driver of compliance training emergency response and safety culture initiatives with full ownership over our incident investigation reporting and continuous improvement processes. This position requires someone who is confident under pressure highly organized and committed to protecting both people and operations.

Safety Strategy and Program Ownership: Lead the development and continuous improvement of Encore s transportation safety program ensuring alignment with DOT FMCSA and OSHA regulations.
Incident Response and Emergency Leadership: Serve as the first point of contact during onroad incidents or emergencies coordinating immediate response and ensuring timely accurate documentation and resolution.
Accident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations of safety incidents and coachrelated damages; identify root causes implement corrective actions and manage insurance reporting requirements.
Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Maintain all driver qualification files monitor HOS data and enforce safety policies using digital monitoring tools; proactively identify gaps and risks before they escalate.
Driver Safety Culture: Build and reinforce a culture of safety through regular training workshops and oneonone coaching; ensure new ECOs receive strong onboarding around safety expectations.
Workers Compensation and Injury Management: Manage the full cycle of workers compensation claims maintain OSHA documentation and provide consistent followups with injured team members.
Data Tracking and Executive Reporting: Analyze safety metrics and trends; prepare regular reports on incidents costs and risk indicators for internal leadership and insurance partners.
Vehicle and Fleet Compliance: Ensure all company vehicles meet safety compliance requirements (registrations IFTA insurance) and maintain uptodate bus books for each vehicle.
Typically requires 3 years in a transportation safety compliance or risk management role
Solid understanding of FMCSA DOT and OSHA requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint
Strong documentation reporting and organizational skills
Comfortable responding to incidents after hours and making timely decisions under pressure
Candidates with fewer years will be considered if they can demonstrate the ability to perform all responsibilities at this level
Experience with Motive Best Pass Fleetio or similar safety systems
Previous experience in commercial transportation or motorcoach operations
Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish)
Experience preparing executivelevel reports and communicating across departments
