Job Description
Forest Hills NY (Must float to the following locations: Jamaica Hewlett Fresh Meadows
Hours: MondayFriday (8.5hr shift between the hours of 7am7pm)

In this role you will:
- Weigh patients and ensure proper labeling of collected samples.
- Ensure knowledge of collection tubes and proper labeling of collected samples. Run CBCs (Complete Blood Counts) to ensure timely patient treatment.
- Perform venipuncture urine dipsticks stool testing and run tests for Strep Flu COVID and RSV.
- Make blood smears upon provider request and assist in troubleshooting any issues.
- Ensure accurate quality control procedures are followed prior to patient testing.
- Operate centrifuges and perform maintenance as required.
- Pour plasma/serum into transfer tubes and prepare specimens for various conditions (room temperature frozen refrigerated warm lightsensitive).
- Handle specimens according to established protocols for inhouse and sendout testing
- Operate CBC analyzers (XN430/50 XS1000i/c Poch 100i) and document daily startup and shutdown.
- Run monitor and troubleshoot quality controls and report any critical values to providers.
- Perform and document all routine maintenance including monthly rinses
- Identify and process orders efficiently in LIS (Laboratory Information System) and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.
- Perform glucose monitoring fecal occult blood tests PT/INR tests and urine pregnancy tests (OSOM).
- Operate and maintain the Siemens Clinitek Status Urinalysis Analyzer.
- Log into Labdaq maintain requisitions and create and adjust patient profiles.
- Enter rapid order test codes verify CBCs and rerun critical results documenting accordingly.
- Ensure that orders are properly sent to reference labs such as Labcorp and Quest.
We require:
- Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience with phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
- Proficient in LIS/EMR systems including LABDAQ.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Adaptability to changes in responsibilities and office environments.
- Must be willing to float throughout Queens
