Job Description
The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the worlds busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Departments main goal is to provide fire protection emergency medical care and other critical public safety services to residents and visitors in the five boroughs. The Fire Department City of New York (FDNY) seeks a fulltime/parttime City Laborer in the Bureau of General Administrative Services. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director General Administrative Services the successful candidate will:
Under immediate supervision the City Laborer will perform common unskilled laborer work requiring physical strength: move lift and carry items of various weight and sizes; assist in moving heavy furniture equipment and materials for firehouse and fire department buildings. Required to operate motor vehicles including forklift in connection with the performance of duties. Operate various materials handling machinery including electric and hydraulic devices.

2. There are certain medical and physical requirements.
License Requirements
Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
