Salary: $26.25 $30.25 per hour DOE / Additional Differentials Must Qualify

Pay Differentials Offered (must qualify through testing or verification):

  • Language Translation Bicultural Spanish: $1.00 per hour
  • Bimodal Bilingualism ASL Sign Language: $1.00 per hour
  • Bimodal Multilingualism ASL Sign Language: $2.00 per hour

Overview:

Reporting to the Training Supervisor the Community Wellness Instructor provides a variety of trainings to all agency staff and community partners. The position will be responsible for facilitating evidencebased training programs including but not limited to Professional Assault Crisis Training (ProACT) Question Persuade Refer (Q.P.R): Suicide Prevention Trauma Informed Care Motivational Interviewing CPR and other related trainings for agency employees resource families and other interested parties working with atrisk children youth and adults.

The Community Wellness Instructor will manage the activities involved in the design development and production of training curriculums materials and learning resources to ensure consistency and quality of content and delivery to meet the needs of the training program. This position is responsible for preparing lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of class participants.

This role consults with other trainers managers and leadership to address training needs/requests and will coordinate projects resulting from inquiries.

The ideal candidate has experience facilitating formal trainings to diverse populations knowledge of how to execute successful training programs and familiarity with traditional and modern training methods. The candidate should consider themselves a confident public speaker and a devoted educator who is uptodate on the latest tools and resources needed to improve employee training and performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeping abreast of training needs to identify skill gaps and training priorities within the organization.
  • Developing and maintaining inhouse training materials including presentations handouts and interactive activities. Becoming certified trainer and providing evidencebased training as trained.
  • Delivering training sessions to employees and the community atlarge on a variety of topics including leadership development technical skills training and compliance training.
  • Conduct administrative duties such as scheduling calling emailing documenting tracking and recording attendance.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and uptodate.
  • Providing oneonone coaching and support (field training) to employees who require additional assistance with training materials.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Communicating with agency leaders and partners to ensure training programs align with organizational goals and objectives and community interest and need.
  • Administering and tracking training attendance and completion records.
  • Assisting in the development of a training calendar.
  • Position requires travel across the US and between Lake Mendocino and Humboldt Counties.

Education and/or Experience:
Preferred:

Bachelors degree in behavioral health science and/or at least four (4) years of experience/equivalent (FTE) experience in a mental healthrelated field providing direct mental health services. Minimum requirement of two (2) years of actual work experience.
Two (2) years of the four (4) years of experience can be substituted by years of education

** in a mental healthrelated field or by completion of the County Core Skills Training.

**The education requirement must be a minimum of two (2) years of education (60 semester or 90 quarter units) with a minimum of 12 semesters (18 quarter units) in mental healthrelated subject areas such as child development social work human behavior rehabilitation psychology or alcohol and drug counseling.

**Must be able to provide written verification of experience upon hire.

**Two years of grant operations experience.


Conditions of Employment:

  • Must possess a valid CA Drivers License current auto insurance and a clean DMV printout (no more than 3 points).
  • Must pass a clear background check with CACI DOJ & FBI.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified. Training provided during New Hire Orientation
  • TB Exam and Physical at the time of employment.
  • This position requires occasional travel and overnight stays in Mendocino County. The company will cover expenses for meals mileage and hotel accommodations.

Driving Requirement:
This position requires the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes.

  • Driving is a required function of this position. Employees must use a personal vehicle that meet all agency requirements including maintaining liability insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements.
  • Employees are responsible for ensuring the timely renewal of their vehicle insurance policies and providing updated documentation to the agency to remain in good standing and compliant with position requirements.

Training Provided:

  • RCS provides an indepth onboarding and training orientation which includes CPR/First Aid Crisis Communication/ProACT TraumaInformed Care Motivational Interviewing Collaborative Problem Solving introductions to all RCS departments and other valuable trainings.
