Job Description
Responsible for general janitorial and custodial duties of University wide facilities to include Resident Halls for students.
Essential Functions
Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities in accordance with established university health standards. Cleans all surfaces in offices classrooms common spaces restrooms laboratories meeting rooms and other spaces in university facilities. Empties and cleans waste receptacles in university facilities. Transports contents to designated disposal sites. Sweeps mops strips w axes polishes buffs and applies special finishes to floors. Vacuums shampoos and spotcleans carpets and walkoff mats. Washes the interior and exterior of windows and glass surfaces as required. Identifies maintenance or repair needs and reports condition to the supervisor. Determines cleaning supplies required for assigned work areas and orders materials through supervisor. Sweeps and clean s walkways around assigned buildings. Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or G.E.D. One (1) year of experience performing custodial duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of and adeptness in the use of manual tools. Ability to learn and adhere to university procedures involving the handling of cleaning agents or potentially hazardous materials and waste disposal. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
Work Schedule
Ability and willingness to work weekends various shifts.
