How Youll Find Success
- Possess deep expertise in observability platforms and a proven track record of implementing reliable monitoring and alerting systems.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with crossfunctional engineering teams to efficiently resolve issues and enhance system performance.
- Emphasize scalable and highperformance architectural design ensuring solutions are both efficient and sustainable.
- Maintain a proactive mindset to identify gaps in platform performance and address them effectively.
- Implement automated solutions that streamline incident resolution processes improving operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous system improvements by leveraging insights gained from monitoring to make informed architectural adjustments.
How Youll Grow
- Analytical ability: Continually evaluate our Observability offerings and make recommendations for our build v buy strategy including evaluations of multiple vendor offerings as compared to Open Source software offerings
- Collaborative ability: Drive projects across the rest of Engineering working with all Engineering product units Product management and Security organizations
- Technical ability: identify design and execution tradeoffs with consideration to cost performance security simplicity and functionality. Communicate strategic approach through position papers implement chosen approach directing and delegating to others as necessary.
- In summary this role will provide opportunities for growth in communication technical subjects knowledge of the greater observability space and in crossfunctional impact.
Things Youll Do
- Manage our observability platform ensuring reliable systems monitoring and alerting
- Develop and maintain secure high performing scalable and costeffective systems
- Be involved in architectural design decisions and drive system improvements
- Ensure ontime delivery of projects and creation of automated solutions for issue resolution
- Oversee platform lifecycle document systems and participate in technical analysis
- Address complex problemsolving including system feature design and complexity mitigation
- Monitor operational metrics and assist teams in resolving issues during incidents
- Participate in oncall rotation and manage operational needs
What Were Looking For On Your Resume
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Ruby Go or Java
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues navigate through unfamiliar code and quickly learn new technologies
- Strong experience with Linux OS and its administration
- Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes)
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and across various teams
- Handson experience with monitoring and logging tools: Splunk Prometheus Grafana Elastic Stack New Relic Datadog
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform Ansible Puppet Chef)
- Knowledge and practice of DevOps culture
- Experience in incident response and root cause analysis
