How you can play a part
The purpose of the Student Support Officer is to provide mentoring and support services to our First Nations students in years 712 through the successful delivery of our Beyond the Broncos Program. This program focuses on engagement retention and academic progress through
Providing culturally safe mentoring and strengthsbased support to participants
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including school staff parents carers indigenous community NGOs and government agencies
Updating and maintaining student profiles and records
Providing students with career pathway support including; mentoring work experience industry engagement info sessions selfawareness etc.
Implementing monitoring and reviewing attendance behaviour effort retention and attainment strategies
Other ad hoc tasks as required
This role is parttime working 5 days per week.
To be considered
To be considered for this opportunity you will have
Previous experience working with First Nations young people and an understanding of local community groups
A relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Education Youth or Community Service
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comprehensive administration and reporting skills
A strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving participants and team member
