Job Description
Trade and Customs Analyst will work on a variety of assignments including performing financial analysis industry analysis and microeconomic research to assist companies in pricing their intercompany transactions.
Daytoday responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations including U.S. Customs regulations import/export laws and international trade agreements.
- Prepare and submit import/export documentation (e.g. entry summaries commercial invoices packing lists) to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance.
- Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and assess duties taxes and trade program eligibility (e.g. USMCA GSP).
- Maintain and monitor records of import/export activity to ensure audit readiness and compliance with customs regulations.
- Liaise with customs brokers freight forwarders and internal teams to resolve import/export issues and ensure smooth crossborder transactions.
- Performing financial and statistical analysis for clients that include Fortune 500 companies top ranked law firms nonprofits and government organizations
- Designing and applying complex financial models to analyze and price intercompany transactions for products and services intellectual property and financial instruments
- Conducting interviews with our clients executive leadership teams to gather focused insight into their companys global operations
- Undertaking indepth company industry and market research
- Writing client reports speaking at seminars and preparing industry articles.
Essential traits:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Economics Finance Business Administration or Management (with a concentration in Economics or Finance) or other degree (with a minimum of four Junior and/or Senior level courses in Economics or Finance) from an accredited university or college
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Strong analytical critical thinking and problemsolving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail ability to manage time and work flow & work on multiple assignments
- Demonstrated ability to focus on quality work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
