Job Description

The Radio Development and Promotions Coordinator under general supervision is responsible for the development efforts of the radio station. Develops and implements strategies to obtain underwriting and funding for station operations. Also assists in administration of campus radio stations.

This is a 12month fulltime staff position located on Tarletons main campus in Stephenville Texas. Work hours Monday to Friday 8 AM5 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required pending scheduled activities events or as work requirements indicate. Additionally occasional travel to other campuses for events may be necessary. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in fundraising and communications and participate in the necessary operation of the institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

50% Underwriting Sales and Fundraising:

  • Responsible for all fundraising initiatives and development activities at Tarleton Radio.

  • Responsible for underwriting sales including sales in surrounding communities.

  • Manages all underwriting donations and invoices through QuickBooks.

  • Plans and executes onair fundraising drives.

  • Works closely with the university development office and Deans office to obtain data and identify new fundraising opportunities.

  • Manages radio station membership and donor relations.

  • Identifies grant opportunities and is responsible for grant applications.

  • Uses resources such as Radio Advertising Bureau Grant Watch and Greater Public Media to assist in fundraising goals.

25% Administrative Operations:

  • Participates in the planning and execution of administrative operations.

  • Monitors office procedures and develops evaluates and ensures adherence to office procedures.

  • Reviews documents for supervisor. Attends meetings or committees on behalf of supervisor.

  • Analyzes requirements for projects or initiatives. Provides technical information regarding administrative procedures services or programs.

  • Performs special analyses and project summaries.

  • Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares itineraries.

  • Coordinates meetings seminars and other special events and provide onsite support.

  • Coordinates the maintenance of files records office supplies or equipment. Makes recommendations for process improvements administrative changes or new initiatives.

  • Works with student employees on various projects and supervises student employees on behalf of supervisor when necessary.

20% Communications:

  • Coordinates program communications marketing and advertising social media and newsletter for the radio station.

5% Other:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of related experience in relationship development and fundraising.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary

Commensurate with experience

Salary Range

The target base annual salary range is $47000 to $61940.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
