Job Description

The Paralegal I Legal Collections provides support and assistance to the companys inhouse legal group under close attorney supervision. This position will be responsible for using their knowledge and skills to assist in supporting the companys attorneys in legal collections. The Paralegal I Legal Collections is expected to be knowledgeable about and supportive of the companys mission and values its policies and procedures and its ethical and compliance standards. The position will report to staff/corporate counsel and will collaborate with other inhouse counsel paralegals and outside attorneys in pursuit of company goals and objectives.

Assigned matters for the Paralegal I Legal Collections will be routine in nature with established policies and procedures and no variance from standard process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Learns the legalcollections process including preparing lawsuits and judgment enforcement pleadings assembling suitrelated documents and facts composing discovery requests and/or responses and supporting unique projects as assigned.


Determines courses of action related to legal collections based on guidelines.


Directly follows standard practices and procedures when determining appropriate action on legalcollections issues of low risk/complexity (issues on which answers can readily be obtained).


Applies knowledge and basic problemsolving techniques to define and resolve issues of lower risk and complexity related to legal collections.


Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE: 03 years of relevant legal collections experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

Proficiency in MS Office

EDUCATION: Associates

EXPERIENCE: 03 years of relevant legal collections experience

CERTIFICATION(S): Paralegal Certificate or equivalent
