Job Description
Experience & Requirements
- Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or Other Related Mental Health discipline.
- Unrestricted current license in the state of practice LCSW LMFT LPC LMHC or Psychologist. Must maintain all licensures certifications continuing educational requirements etc.
- Counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
A background check security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities
Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional with YesCare:
Located at the Lexington Detention Center in Lexington. KY
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine the factors contributing to the patients incompetence.
- Assess the patients cognitive emotional and psychological functioning.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific mental health issues contributing to incompetency. Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Facilitation of group and individual therapeutic interventions such as psychotherapy and skillbuilding to address mental health symptoms for the purposes of restoring competency.
- Report preparation; expert testimony; data collection and analysis; supervision; and related work as assigned.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on all admissions and discharges for the Competency/Restoration Unit.
- Respond to any mental health crises that may arise during the competency restoration process.
- Communicate with legal professionals as necessary and as instructed to provide updates on the patients progress.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments treatment plans progress notes and other relevant documentation.
- Prepare transition plans for patients being discharged from the unit and facilitate warm handoff with receiving treatment team.
