Job Description

Experience & Requirements

  • Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or Other Related Mental Health discipline.
  • Unrestricted current license in the state of practice LCSW LMFT LPC LMHC or Psychologist. Must maintain all licensures certifications continuing educational requirements etc.
  • Counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.

A background check security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional with YesCare:

Located at the Lexington Detention Center in Lexington. KY

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine the factors contributing to the patients incompetence.
  • Assess the patients cognitive emotional and psychological functioning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific mental health issues contributing to incompetency. Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Facilitation of group and individual therapeutic interventions such as psychotherapy and skillbuilding to address mental health symptoms for the purposes of restoring competency.
  • Report preparation; expert testimony; data collection and analysis; supervision; and related work as assigned.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on all admissions and discharges for the Competency/Restoration Unit.
  • Respond to any mental health crises that may arise during the competency restoration process.
  • Communicate with legal professionals as necessary and as instructed to provide updates on the patients progress.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments treatment plans progress notes and other relevant documentation.
  • Prepare transition plans for patients being discharged from the unit and facilitate warm handoff with receiving treatment team.
