Job Description
Job Title: General Ledger Accountant (Contract)
Location:Onsite in St. Petersburg FL
Contract Duration:3 months (with potential for extension)
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This role is essential in supporting our accounting operations by handling journal entries reconciliations and assisting with the financial close and statement preparation. The ideal candidate will be able to work onsite in our St. Petersburg FL office and possess a strong background in general ledger accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
- Perform account reconciliations including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with the monthend and yearend financial close processes.
- Support the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the finance team to enhance accounting processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Lawson is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
