This is a remote work position but candidate may choose to work at ICJIAs downtown Chicago office during the agencys regular business hoursMonday thru Friday (8:30 A.M. 5:00 P.M.)pending availability.

This is a fulltime position. The selected candidate must work37.5 hoursper week. The selected candidate will start as soon as possible.

POSITION POSTING/MARKETING STATEMENT

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) Innovations Institute has launched a new capacitybuilding hub for communitybased organizations that have recently been funded and those that have previously been denied funding. The Innovations Institute will provide coaching to assist organizations over the next few years. The goal of the Innovations Institute is to support the growth of each of the partner organizations and ensure that their organizations are operating at a high capacity and are better able to sustain themselves.

This position will assist in some development design and implementation of the capacitybuilding program. This position will be responsible for supporting organizations that will be placed in the cohorts with efforts to assist in the strengthening of the organizational infrastructure of cohort partners. This position will review the assessments completed by cohort partners to determine their specific needs and help to facilitate services to address their needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A fouryear degree in human services social work community development or a related field is required. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience working directly in community areas that have been impacted by violence demonstrating a deep understanding of the challenges faced by these communities.
  • At least three years of experience providing capacitybuilding support to communities or community organizations focusing on strengthening their infrastructure and implementing effective strategies for program development board development fiscal accountability staff support and management and traumainformed practices.
  • Fluency in Spanish with the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of Five Years of Community Engagement Experience:Demonstrated experience of at least five years working directly in communities that have been impacted by violence as a community organizer or practitioner.
  • Three Years of CapacityBuilding Support Experience:A minimum of three years of experience providing capacitybuilding support to local communitybased organizations specifically focused on building and/or increasing their infrastructures.
  • Strong Analytical and ProblemSolving Skills:A proven track record of at least two years in analyzing and reviewing information thoroughly to identify problems develop strategies and provide effective solutions.
  • Logical and Objective DecisionMaking Abilities:A minimum of two years of experience in making decisions in a logical and objective manner considering relevant factors and information.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Expertise:A minimum of two years of experience in effectively interacting with various stakeholders including residents government officials law enforcement agencies community organizations block clubs and other relevant entities.
  • Demonstrated Commitment to Equity and Inclusion:A strong commitment to promoting equity diversity and inclusion in communitybased work.
  • Excellent Communication and Facilitation Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively facilitate meetings workshops and training sessions.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset:A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the fields of communitybased organizations violence prevention capacity building and related areas.

ICJIA administers over 100 million dollars in grants including the R3 (restore reinvest renew) grants (funded through the tax on legalized cannabis) state violence prevention grants and federal grants including under the Violence Against Women Act and the Victims of Crime Act. ICJIA convenes groups and collaborates on efforts to reform the criminal justice system. ICJIA leads criminal justice reform efforts by supporting policy makers through research.
