Job Summary: The House Supervisor directly supports the Senior Executive Team and provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Networks with the Delegate On Call and addresses patient care staffing and any other issues that may arise. Supervises nurses and staff and takes administrative responsibilities. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. Creativity is expected to perform the job. Leads and directs the work of others.
and Supervision
and monitors staff work and work schedules according to department policy
appropriate data on employee attendance for payroll/ATM
appropriate data on employee performance for counseling and performance review
any behavioral issues timely and effectively
ability to coach and mentor staff
as a clinical resource for staff
and communicates critical information related to risk issues guest service issues or other need to know information with administration risk management medical management medical staff and patient advocates
for daily staffing verification to assure appropriate number skill mix and competency
responds to administrative issues and notifies administrator on call as appropriate
with physicians to facilitate patient care services.
represents and supports the Chief Nursing Officer in the delivery of patient care services after hours.
Throughput Management
patient admissions/transfers/discharges in a timely manner.
incoming calls from external sites and manages patient placement appropriately.
requests for transfers from other facilities coordinates transfer and initiates transport team if necessary.
bed assignments for inpatients outpatients pre/post operative surgical patients. Monitors patient levels of care for appropriateness and facilitates changes with appropriate provider as necessary.
as appropriate the scheduling of surgical and specialty procedures and timely notification of appropriate teams as necessary
Practice and Care Management
effectively and efficiently to the needs of the nursing team for treatments procedures and equipment such as but not limited to: Code Blue Event Management Rapid response team calls disaster situations IV Therapy Assistance *Minimum and Moderate Sedation Analgesia
clinical practice and care management RN job standards as needed.
and Collaboration
communicates/collaborates with the health care team members patients and families to maximize patient outcomes.
delegates patient care activities to other health care team members and participates in making and revising staff assignments to achieve maximum productivity.

Experience
Minimum of 3 years acute care experience and 1 year charge/supervisory nurse experience
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing (ASD)
Training
Special Skills
Proficient in the English language verbal and written communication skills computer skill. Proficient IV Therapy skills. Critical Thinking skills
Licensure
Current State RN license. Current BLS certification. ACLS within 6 months.
