DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role you will oversee the operations of the PennDOT Welcome Centers. Your team will deliver precise efficient and helpful information and resources to travelers utilizing the Welcome Center facilities aiding them in their travel planning. You will act as a representative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by warmly greeting and assisting visitors while also maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the states highways transportation networks public and private attractions recreational areas events weather conditions accommodations and tourist sites ensuring that guests receive relevant printed materials.

- Fulltime employment 40hour work week
- Hours of operation are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. This positions hours are temporarily 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
- This position works a 6week rotating schedule. Days and hours can vary from Sunday to Saturday.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Tourist Information Counselor(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in work involving public contact; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):- Supervisory experience.
