Job Description
TITLE: TradeWest OnCall Aide
DEPARTMENT: TradeWest
STATUS: OnCall
SALARY: $18
MAJOR FUNCTION
Responsible for helping in all areas of the Fulfillment Center in Rancho Palos Verdes (THQ).
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures
- Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products especially Word and Excel
- Knowledge of UPS or other shipping system
- Experience working in a warehouse setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for assisting with various tasks in the TradeWest fulfillment center and/or the shoppette located in building D which includes but is not limited to:
- Receiving storing shipping inventory counting bar coding cleaning and merchandise stocking. Assisting customers with fittings or purchases/bagging merchandise.
- Order pulling event preparation as well as event set up and break down.
- Assist the Director Customer Service Representative Fulfillment Center Manager and Fulfillment Center Assistant as needed or requested.
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Active Salvationist or knowledge of The Salvation Army as an employee preferred
- Experience working with a wide diversity of people in a customer service environment.
- Experience working as a shipper
- Knowledge of a major shipping system (UPS FedEx USPS) an essential
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Able to build strong and positive working relationships with superiors coworkers THQ personnel and vendors outside the organization.
- Able to get along well with diverse personalities doing so with tact maturity and flexibility in a professional and constructive manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone with a high degree of professionalism.

- Superior communication skills both written and verbal.
- Resourceful and well organized.
- Able to take direction and timely perform tasks with minimal oversight and direction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp push pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers and reach overhead
- Ability to operate telephone
- Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to access and produce information from a computer
- Ability to understand written information
