Summary
The Paramedic 2 functions as a member of the clinical team and provides direct and indirect professional care duties in the hospital setting in the Emergency Department/Urgent Care as defined by the organization. The Paramedic examines plans organizes provides and evaluates care utilizing provider orders and protocols for patients needing basic medical to critical care. Responsible for care and documentation of care and interventions provided. Works collaboratively with other care team members and adheres to organizational standards policies procedures guidelines and protocols. Reports to the Emergency Department/Urgent Care Nurse Manager and takes direction from the Emergency Department Charge Nurse and Medical Provider. The Paramedic 2 is additionally involved in professional advancement activities which may include serving as a preceptor for other paramedics or emergency medical providers (ED Tech) assist with education and skills training or serve as an active member of department or organizational committee.
Education
Graduated from an accredited Paramedic Program.
Certification Registration & Licensure
Licensure required: Current New Hampshire Paramedic license.
Registrations required: Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic (EMTP).
Certification required: Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS
Experience
Minimum of 2 years field experience and/or in the ED/UC hospital setting as a paramedic. Hospital setting experience preferred.
