Job Description
Join our vibrant team as a Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator! In this exciting role youll take charge of independently designing constructing and managing a variety of technology environments from the ground up. Were looking for someone who is selfmotivated possesses strong problemsolving skills and has a wealth of knowledge across different technology platforms. Youll play a crucial role in supporting complex systems and ensuring the seamless functionality of our IT infrastructure.
In this role youll collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design implement and maintain systems crucial to our space initiatives. This is primarily and inoffice role in our Arlington VA office.
Key Responsibilities
- Design:Build and configure multiple technologies and systems from initial setup through full lifecycle management.
- Administration:Manage and maintain IT systems including both physical and virtual environments ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshooting:Identify troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues collaborating with team members for efficient solutions.
- Documentation:Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation including specifications configurations and reports.
- Security Compliance:Implement and oversee security measures to comply with governmental and organizational protocols.
- Collaboration:Work with engineering and IT teams to align system designs with operational requirements and best practices to deploy new infrastructure services and software solutions.
- Perform other professional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. Additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 5 years of experience designing implementing and administrating enterprise IT environments.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance read in within the past 2 years.
- Strong understanding of network architecture and handson experience with networking concepts and configurations including firewalls VLANs and VPNs.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems with a focus on server administration.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and management of virtual environments.
- Experience with security compliance and ability to assist in maintaining confidentiality for classified systems.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Ability to work effectively within crossfunctional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the aerospace or defense industries.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker Kubernetes).
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms with experience managing configurations access controls and application integrations.
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
