Role Description:

• Arcadis Toronto West office is seeking a Senior Job Captain to join its growing Industrial Practice Group. In this role you will contribute to design development construction phasing working drawings and detailing while supporting a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing detailed construction documents across a range of projects along with a comprehensive understanding of the design process.
• We are looking for a creative thinker with expertise in developing innovative detailing solutions and a solid understanding of building envelope technologies. Arcadis is committed to fostering professional growth in a collaborative dynamic and relaxed work environment. This position offers a flexible hybrid or workfromhome arrangement but candidates must be located within one hour of the GTA.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare working drawings using BIM (Revit) or AutoCAD for assigned projects.
• Create highquality technical content including construction details ensuring design intent is consistently maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and coordinate with other team members as well as external consultants including Mechanical Electrical and Structural disciplines.
• Manage coordination and communication within the production team.
• Resolve complex operating tasks or drawing production challenges as they arise.
• Stay uptodate on building codes construction practices materials and emerging technologies.
• Support the Contract Administration team with processing shop drawings and related administrative tasks.
• Attend site visits as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Architectural Technology a University Degree in Architecture or current OAA membership.
• Minimum 8 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit is an asset.
• Strong expertise in developing architectural drawing packages detailing and building envelope technologies.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Site experience and contract administration knowledge are essential.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration.
• Proven experience in project coordination and managing competing deadlines.
• A handson approach with a rollupyoursleeves attitude critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Portfolio submission is mandatory and must include examples of working drawings and detailed drawings showcasing handson expertise.
