Role Description:
- Arcadis Toronto West office is seeking a Senior Job Captain to join its growing Industrial Practice Group. In this role you will contribute to design development construction phasing working drawings and detailing while supporting a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing detailed construction documents across a range of projects along with a comprehensive understanding of the design process.
- We are looking for a creative thinker with expertise in developing innovative detailing solutions and a solid understanding of building envelope technologies. Arcadis is committed to fostering professional growth in a collaborative dynamic and relaxed work environment. This position offers a flexible hybrid or workfromhome arrangement but candidates must be located within one hour of the GTA.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare working drawings using BIM (Revit) or AutoCAD for assigned projects.
- Create highquality technical content including construction details ensuring design intent is consistently maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and coordinate with other team members as well as external consultants including Mechanical Electrical and Structural disciplines.
- Manage coordination and communication within the production team.
- Resolve complex operating tasks or drawing production challenges as they arise.
- Stay uptodate on building codes construction practices materials and emerging technologies.
- Support the Contract Administration team with processing shop drawings and related administrative tasks.
- Attend site visits as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Architectural Technology a University Degree in Architecture or current OAA membership.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit is an asset.
- Strong expertise in developing architectural drawing packages detailing and building envelope technologies.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Site experience and contract administration knowledge are essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration.
- Proven experience in project coordination and managing competing deadlines.
- A handson approach with a rollupyoursleeves attitude critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Portfolio submission is mandatory and must include examples of working drawings and detailed drawings showcasing handson expertise.

The salary range for this position is CAD$89600 CAD$134400. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
