This is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in the data transformation of the Energy Industry as part of our newly created Network Data & Intelligence function. This is a new position in response to the everevolving way we use data recognising that development and external sharing of our data and information will be a key enabler in the transition to Net Zero.

In this role you will be responsible for leading a programme of work to ensure that our customers and stakeholders have access to the data and information they need to realise their ambitions. You will develop a detailed understanding of our data so that you can work with our customers and stakeholders to determine what data can be provisioned to fulfil their requirements whilst ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to protect sensitive information. You will include work with our datasets and our Data Owners to analyse information develop insights improve the quality and to identify synergies across various datasets which can then be developed into tools and visualisations in conjunction with our Data Transformation Team.

In this process you will be supporting the development of our framework for data sharing which will include engagement with external actors such as Ofgem and the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to ensure that our data is developed and shared with the principles of Data Security and Cyber security. This will also require you to influence internal Data Owners ensuring that they understand the principles of data triage risk assessment and Data Best Practice all of which are evolving areas within the industry and you will have the unique opportunity to develop this framework and support the implementation of the programme of work across our business.

What youll be doing

  • Develop and realise an endtoend data sharing strategy ensuring that we learn from industry best practice and maximise the unique offerings from our internal data provision.

  • Lead in the development of our data sharing framework including the definition of our data triage process our risk assessment process and ensure that the principles of Data Security and Cyber Security are fully considered.

  • Collaborate with various parties across the organisation including Data Owners Data Transformation team Business Transformation team and IT to ensure that our data assets and our data framework is implemented and realised across the organisation.

  • Develop a detailed understanding of SPEN open data so that you can support our customers and stakeholders with identifying what data meets their needs.

  • Work closely with our programme of development across our Open Data Portal identifying and feeding in requirements to improve offerings which align with the needs of the datasets and ensuring we are delivering in line with Data Best Practice.

  • Engage with our stakeholders across the industry through attendance at industry events to seek opportunities to deliver best in class data offerings.

  • Prepare executive materials and industry submissions ensuring that the work being completed by SPEN is fully reflected and recognised.

  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholdersand establish effective working relationships with SPEN staff and management teams across the business.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in mathematics engineering statistics or similar preferred

  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.

  • Proven experience in data and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills.

  • Experience in preparing analysis reports and presentations for senior management.

  • Numerically articulate with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges involving consultation with others in the business resolving differences and presenting a common agreed perspective.
