Experience with personal computers including experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Access and Outlook); general office experience; proofreading skills and attention to detail; excellent communication skills including telephone skills and customer service; ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
Job Description:
This position serves in the Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems (BSDS) in the Division of Epidemiology. Duties include:
Provide technical assistance to the Director Statistical Unit and staff.
Answer the telephone field questions from system users and/or refer callers to subject matter experts.
Enter data into the Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System including but not limited to all influenza cases and other vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs).
Transfer laboratory information from the Electronic Communicable Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS) to CDESS.
Perform tasks associated with mailings or faxes to system users including registration forms or other informational materials.
Support providers and school users looking to set up new accounts for use of the online New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS).
Answer the telephone and perform searches in NYSIIS to locate individuals immunization records. Process and send back records in a confidential manner.

Preferred level of education is an Associates
Minimum years of experience a candidates should have is 2 years
