Job Description

Percussion Battery Instructor

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Percussion Battery Instructor to join our marching band and winter percussion programs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in marching percussion effective teaching abilities and a passion for developing young musicians. This position requires working with our battery percussion section (snares tenors bass drums and cymbals).


Responsibilities

  • Instruct and develop the battery percussion section
  • Create and teach drum parts and exercises appropriate for high school percussion students
  • Collaborate with band directors and other staff to develop show concepts and music
  • Conduct sectional rehearsals
  • Provide individual and group instruction to improve technique and musicality
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student growth and teamwork

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching marching percussion at the high school or collegiate level
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary marching percussion techniques and methods
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young musicians

Required Availability

  • Summer Band Camp: July:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Fall Rehearsals:
    • Mondays 3:00 5:30 PM
    • Wednesdays 6:00 9:00 PM
  • Friday Night Football Games
  • Saturday Rehearsals and Competitions

Salary

This is a nonexempt position and the base hourly wage range will be $25.00 per hour.
