Job Summary and Duties:
The primary focus of this role as an Automation Engineer is the development and maintenance of automated testing and deployment solutions as part of product serving the expanding scaleout file and object storage market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop infrastructure and framework for the engineering organization to write and execute automated testing. This is primarily a phyton framework running in containers on Linux.
- Work with a high performing Agile/iterative team to develop cutting edge solutions in test and deployment engineering.
- Work closely with Software Engineering and Product team in the development of toolsets to help harden Quality Engineering and Development Engineering testing as well as release management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders or partners to gather and compose requirements for automation.
- Write and develop unit and system/integration test cases for the framework.
- Maintain proficiency with products under test to create the bestautomated tests and tools.
- Triage and root cause analysis.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience with scripting and automation using Python Bash or similar languages.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux (macOS or Windows experience is a plus).
- Experience with distributed version control systems like GitHub or GitLab.
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Handson experience with automated testing and deployment tools such as Ansible or Selenium.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs (GraphQL experience is a plus).
- Experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Experience with Storage product and protocols like NFS SMB is a plus
