School Governing Body Advisor(Hybrid & Termtime)
This position is part time and term time only please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent the salary received will be paid on a prorata basis

A School Governing Body Advisorto work withinGovernor Servicesinthe Directorate of Education and Children Services working 19 hours per week on a term time only basis covering Chorley South Ribble and West Lancashire.
As a School Governing Body Advisor you will support and advise Volunteer Governors within the Education Sector. The Advisors key role is to support Governors to fulfil their statutory functions to ensure clarity of vision ethos and a strategic direction for their school. This valuable and community focused position will assist Governors to be accountable for educational performance the performance of its employees and for the schools financial performance. In this integral position you will be arranging attending advising and minuting Governing Body meetings in liaison with the Headteacher and the Chair of Governors as well as providing advice and guidance. Service ExcellenceYoull be focused on delivering service excellence to our customers to provide the right advisory support to fulfil our service level agreements whilst ensuring management deliver their key functions to do this you will become a critical friend to the board who can prompt and ask the right questions at the right time this will assist Governors in holding schools to account for the actions and decisions which impact childrens education including budgetary and more in this valuable and rewarding role you will arrange participate and advise at various Governing Body Meetings your enthusiastic yet professional approach will really contribute to the ethos of each school and will assist in providing the best possible service to each school we support
CollaborativeThis role needs an excellent collaborator to work in partnership with an array of disciplines from Human Resources Pupil Access and more this is to ensure we collaborate efficiently to perform our advisory duties your flexible approach will require you to work in a variety of settings in a specific geographical location so at times you could be in the office school or at home and this will help us meet the needs of the service in addition youll have lots of autonomy to deliver our key functions; so well need you to be organised to adhere to strict deadlines to ensure we remain accountable and compliant in our obligations
CommunicationWere seeking someone with a warm personality who is competent in all forms of communication how you communicate with others both written and orally will be key youll have a person centred approach and be able to accurately minute each meeting whilst providing open honest and professional advice this is especially important as documents will be reviewed by Ofsted and be in the public domain with this in mind your oral and written skills will need to be exemplary additionally well need you to be proactive enthusiastic and discreet as youll be party to confidential and sensitive data which may involve children or employees so if this sounds like you and you would love the opportunity to become a trained Governing Body Advisor then please apply to join us
