Position Overview
The purpose of this role is to provide engineering and technical support to the Estimating Project and Contract Departments. As a Mechanical Engineer you will carry out mechanical engineering design on Climatechs projects and overseeing quality control and commissioning of ongoing projects.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of Contract / Design Documents under the direction of the Project / Engineering Manager
- Assist in the production of concept designs including identification and implementation of effective value engineering during the bidding process
- On projects that are not fully specified undertake engineering planning design and assign work as appropriate
- Coordinate with the Engineering Manager in developing projects plans for the engineering resources and programme
- Development review and coordination of engineering design deliverables including reports full detailed layouts and schematics calculations including heat load estimate as defined in specific contracts and client briefs
- Assist in the management of drafting personnel internal and/or subcontractors in ontime delivery of high quality buildable and coordinated production of Workshop Drawings
- Scheduling selection and proving of HVAC equipment
- Maintain and transfer Engineer Department documentation and records
- Assist in the planning and initiate procedures and control systems necessary to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the projects engineering deliverables
- Attendance and participation on client design meetings presentations and services coordination meetings
- Participate in selections and ongoing reviews of suppliers and subcontractors on engineering and project delivery matters
- On site assistance working with Project Teams to manage the proper and correct delivery installation and commissioning of Climatehs projects
- Adhere to the Companys HSE&Q Policy and Procedures
- Participate in OH&S management audits site inspections accident investigations and risks assessments
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for deficiencies identified during management audits
- Guide mentor and train Graduate Engineering Staff
- Assist Management in education and training programs for Company personnel as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in Mechanical Design/Contracts
- Hands on HVAC Design Experience in a variety of commercial applications
- Experience in Bluebeam Camel Word / Excel programmes
