Job Summary:
The Managing Director Facilities in carrying out the decisions of the Board of Trustees in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer is primarily responsible for the Casey Family Programs real estate portfolio owned and leased with attention to both longterm needs as well as daytoday operations including conducting periodic appraisals and evaluations of the portfolio as well as preparing quarterly portfolio reports for the Board of Trustees.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works with all Casey managers directors and executives to define and makes recommendations regarding real estate needs. Works with Chief Program Counsel to make and communicate various real estate recommendations to Caseys Chief Executive Officer and as necessary to the Board of Trustees regarding acquisition disposition and/or lease of real properties.
- Leads and represents Casey in sophisticated negotiations with external parties of all real estate transactions including purchase and sales leases and subleases/space uses. With appropriate support from Legal Services and outside counsel leads and manages all such transactions including any due diligence and inspections as well as all transaction documentation. Engages and oversees brokers and vendors in these transactions.
- Oversees capital projects from planning to completion. Provides documentation on construction costs and variances regular project status updates and the need for any change orders to management and the Board of Trustees. Prepares requests for proposals (as appropriate) selects engages and oversees outside architects contractors and vendors associated with capital projects. Works closely with legal counsel on all applicable contracts remediation needs and dispute resolutions.
- Oversees the maintenance of all owned and leased facilities including engagement and oversight of Caseys contracted property managers. Interfaces with building management of Casey leased space to effect timely repairs. Oversees the identifying and analyzing of a preventative maintenance program including longrange facilities plan and regular reporting of activities. Manages quality assurance to determine stakeholders satisfaction with repairs. Resolves any issues between property managers and Casey personnel or tenants.
- Prepares capital budget based on longrange facilities plan and any emergent needs. Responsible for development of department operating budget. Reviews and authorizes all expenditures and analyzes and explains department budget variances. Keeps abreast of complex lease expenses including CAM calculations.
- Tracks status of market trends and keeps current on real estate issues generally and specifically in geographical areas where Casey has an office.
- Represents Casey at land use hearings and tax appeals hearings. Manages all activities on tax exemption of real property. Oversees due diligence activities including environmental assessment. Deals with any other real estate issues including zoning encroachment property insurance appraisals etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Required is BA or BS in Business or a closely related field and a minimum of 15 years with leading commercial real estate transactions as well as in the commercial real estate and/or facilities management field. An advanced degree such as MBA or JD is preferred. Five years of supervisory experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of real estate including land and building acquisition issues commercial leases zoning and use as well as a thorough understanding of architectural construction property insurance and maintenance of commercial facilities.
- Must be an excellent steward of Casey resources and prioritize competing needs.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills be team oriented and be proficient in the English language. Other requirements include: an ability to physically bend crawl and climb ladders a valid Washington State drivers license ability to travel and proficiency in Microsoft Office and database tools.
- Ability to perform effectively in high pressure and stressful work environment. Ability to manage stress and selfcare.
- Ability to work onsite fulltime to meet the collaborative responsibilities that are essential for position. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; ability to type and work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information by learning and following all relevant policies and protocols and using sound judgment in the handling and sharing of that information.
- Local travel as well as occasional out of town travel may be required. Driving on Casey business may require use of personal vehicle; adherence to vehicle safety guidelines and qualification for insurance is require.

The salary range for the role is $186150 to $251850. As a missiondriven organization Casey strives to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidates jobrelated skills experience and expertise as evaluated during the interview process.
Casey Family Programs offers comprehensive benefits including medical dental and vision coverage accrual of 12 days of annual leave 12 days of sick leave10 paid holidays per year and each employee receives one personal holiday to use each calendar year. Employees that meet certain tenure qualifiers are eligible for up to eight weeks of parental leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care.
