Required Education and Experience:
All levels require a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Web Design and Development or a closely related field such as Information Systems Design or Computer Programming. Alternative combinations of related education and experience may be considered for all levels. 4 years of additional related experience can take place of the degree.
Level 2.2 ($38.88): 4 years of related experience in SQL (Standard Query Language) Oracle RDBMS and its associated tools Java .NET technologies JavaScript Perl HTML XML.
Level 2.3 ($40.55): 5 years of related experience in Esri Enterprise ArcGIS SQL Oracle RDBMS and its associated tools Java .NET technologies JavaScript Python HTML XML Perl spatial and mobile applications.
Level 3.1 ($43.89): This position requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience. The experience must include 13 years of Esri project (team or project leadership) experience team or project leadership and database schema development. Expertise in Esri Enterprise ArcGIS SQL Oracle RDBMS and its associated tools Java .NET technologies JavaScript Python HTML XML Perl spatial and mobile applications.
Level 3.2 ($45.97): 8 years of related experience. The experience must include 4 years of Esri project (team or project leadership) experience and database schema development. Expertise in Esri Enterprise ArcGIS SQL Oracle RDBMS and its associated tools Java .NET technologies JavaScript Python HTML XML Perl spatial and mobile applications.

Position Title: Software Developer
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Software Developer. This position will perform both systems analysis and design and programming tasks individually or as a member of a project team in support of the Department of Transportations daytoday operations. Utilize the most current systems analysis and design methodologies for computer science including methods of business process analysis to effectively determine the requirements for a new system or the changes to be made to an existing system. Once the requirements have been documented responsible for translating the requirements into computer code and write and test the necessary programs. Will train users and assess user satisfaction with the completed project. This position reports to the Software Engineering Section Supervisor and does not supervise others. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities. Other MDT office locations may be considered.
