The Diagnostic Technologist performs radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging services and assists the Radiologist with specialized imaging techniques when fluoroscopic guidance is required.

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program
ARRT (R) Certification
Current BCLS Certification
TDH Certification
1 year of related work experience preferred (new graduates may be considered based on departmental needs)
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Professional demeanor and ability to maintain composure under pressure
Confidentiality in handling patient information
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (preferred)
Bilingual skills preferred
Knowledge of value management techniques for cost control and process improvement
Verify patient identity and procedure to be performed
Ensure informed consent is obtained when applicable
Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation
Consult with radiologists as necessary
Understand role within the overall patient care process
Report availability to team leader
Offer assistance across departmental areas
Respond to schedule changes
Complete procedures accurately and in a timely manner
Monitor condition of assigned equipment
Report malfunctions to team leader promptly
Maintain stocked supply inventory and report needs
Operate within costconscious parameters to reduce waste and improve efficiency
Use PACS and HIS/RIS systems for accurate documentation and charge entry
Wear radiation badge per guidelines and monitor exposure
Follow aseptic techniques and infection control policies
Clean and disinfect equipment and workspaces after each use and daily
Ensure safe operation of all equipment and adherence to safety protocols
Support orientation and training of new staff
Participate in student clinical education
Fill in for absent colleagues when necessary
Share expertise and mentor peers
Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Provide professional courteous service to all patients
Escort patients to and from procedures
Coordinate transport for inpatients and outpatients
Demonstrate proficiency in procedure setup sterile field preparation and supply selection
Prepare patients and equipment for fluoroscopic and interventional procedures
Operate diagnostic fluoroscopic and portable imaging equipment effectively
