Job Description

About the Role:

Were looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team!. In this role youll take charge of the design performance availability integrity and security of our Oracle and SQL Server databases. Youll be a key player in maintaining our critically important systems ensuring they run smoothly and securely across multiple product lifecycle environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases from development to production.
  • Configure and monitor database servers to ensure high performance and availability.
  • Apply data modelling techniques to optimize integration and performance.
  • Fix and resolve issues in real time providing endtoend support.
  • Automate regular processes track issues and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployments.
  • Provide technical mentorship and crosstraining to team members.
  • Assist with building and configuring application servers for corporate systems.

Qualifications :

  • What Were Looking For:

     

  • Significant experience at managing Oracle databases (19c) in a complex environment including proven track record of design maintenance and administration

  •  Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools

  • Experience with Oracle RMAN for backups restores and recovery models

  • Experience with Oracle Clusterware and RAC

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid / Cloud Control

  •  Experience at managing SQL Server instances (2014 and later) including transaction log shipping to remote sites for Production databases

  •  Experience of building and working with Linux and Windows servers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  •  Flexible team player getitdone personality

  • Ability to organize and plan work independently

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to multitask and contextswitch effectively between different activities and teams

  • Must be available for travel (particularly into London for occasion facetoface meetings)

  • Understands and works to LGC values

  • Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL
