Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for operating company approved vehicles for the transportation of raw material and finished goods to and from multiple company locations in the local area.
REPORTING TO
Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operates company approved vehicles and is responsible for the prompt and compliant delivery of materials to and from company locations in the area
- Reads bill of lading and adheres to other company instructions relating to delivery of materials
- Safely operates hand lift as needed to load vehicles
- Adheres to all city and state highway regulations pertaining to truck and load limits safety regulations and set speed limits
- Responsible for loading vehicle and maintaining gas oil water and other normal care of equipment as required
- Maintains driving record in good standing in accordance with company policy
- Maintains safe working conditions and follows established operator safety procedures
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
- Independent selfstarter able to perform without direct and explicit instruction
- Should have a positive and professional attitude
- Available to work weekends and overtime
- Must be able to operate a forklift
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Must have High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year plus of commercial driving experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time
- Meets all requirements for safe operation of company vehicles and equipment
