The Opportunity

As a Quantitative Risk Analyst I you will be responsible for reviewing and challenging stress testing assumptions and results overseeing Stress Testing Governance leading Reverse Stress Testing working group and developing and maintaining tableau dashboards. The role will also provide risk management support in key risk identification leveraging quantitative and analytical practices to understand risks during Reverse Stress Testing execution. Further responsibilities involve developing quantitative and analytic models assessments and/or applications in support of stress testing oversight.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio TX Plano TX Colorado Springs CO Charlotte NC or Tampa FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What youll do:

  • Applies advanced analytics to assess future risk opportunities and effectiveness and translates results into relevant solutions to improve decision making.
  • Assesses and mitigates exposures through the identification of key and emerging risks in alignment with the risk strategy and appetite.
  • Applies knowledge to produce analytical material for discussions with multifunctional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
  • Produces and communicates analytical content for governance committees and business process owners to influence business strategies.
  • May build statistical reporting and financial analysis to forecast results for required stress test scenarios including analyzing and challenging stress testing results and partnering with relevant functions to validate those results.
  • May engage in model validations produce model validation reports measure and aggregate model risks and/or report on model issues to committees auditors and regulators.

What you have:

  • Bachelors degree in Economics Finance Statistics Mathematics Actuarial Sciences or other quantitative field OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree (8 years total without a degree).
  • 4 years related quantitative analysis experience in a subject area relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis modeling mathematics or other quantitative subject area OR advanced degree/designation in Economics Finance Statistics Mathematics Actuarial Sciences or other quantitative subject area and 2 years work experience in a quantitative subject area relevant to risk management. OR PhD in Economics Finance Statistics Mathematics or other quantitative subject area.
  • Proven interpersonal skills to prioritize multiple deliverables.
  • Understand all federal and state laws and regulatory guidance applicable to the organization and responsibilities of the role.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience in large financial institutions ideally in Stress Testing Treasury Finance or Risk management function.
  • Exposure to model risk management practices including technical reviews of solutions and partnering with other control functions tasked with ensuring Responsible AI.
  • Knowledge of bank products insurance products with experience in loss forecast modeling PPNR modeling Capital Management Reverse Stress Testing scenario design.
  • Excellent data analytics and quantitative skills with Python R SQL Tableau Excel to derive patterns trends and insights.
  • Strong communication skills presenting information to peers/leadership.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93770.00 $179240.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
