Overview
Join Esris team of passionate and technical engineers in our UK Research and Development centers designing and building new geospatial tools as web services and APIs.
We need candidates that are technically driven are effective communicators and possess the initiative to tackle challenging problems. In return we will provide you with the support you need to achieve a meaningful and successful longterm career in software engineering. You will have the chance to use several tools from technologies such as Rust C AWS Jenkins Docker JavaScript Open API/Swagger Git and many more.
Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Cardiff area for this position.
Responsibilities
- Build modern APIs and web services with Rust
- Collaborate with other engineers throughout the development process
- Design develop and test code
- Communicate your design and implementation decisions
Requirements
- 2 years of commercial/academic software development experience
- Fluent in and passionate about Rust
- Interest in designing easy to use APIs
- Proven teambased software development experience
- Enthusiasm for quality software engineering
- Smart adaptable and enthusiastic
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Bachelors in computer science engineering mathematics GIS or related field
- Existing work authorization for United Kingdom
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience with C or JavaScript
- Familiarity in designing and developing RESTful web services
- Experience in using Git source control
- Knowledge of Docker Kubernetes Helm Terraform or AWS is helpful but not required
- Familiarity with GIS applications and technologies an advantage
- Understanding of TestDriven Development
