Job Description
Summary
Position Summary
Leads all phases of scientific experimental and/or analytical investigations and collaborates with Principal Investigators to design and execute major research projects. Leads technical support and auxiliary staff.
Essential Duties
- Independently plans develops and operates major research projects as directed.
- Collaborates with Principal Investigators to develop and move forward major research projects.
- Leads staff in one or more scientific areas including technicians students support and auxiliary staff.
- Serves as subject matter expert on m involving complex analyses utilizing highly sophisticated methods. Serves as technical and scientific leader for major techniques recording devices and statistical procedures relative to the specifically assigned field.
- Develops new or modified laboratory or analysis techniques which affect any part of major projects.
- Evaluates new or modified laboratory or analysis techniques developed by research staff within assigned labs.
- Performs routine and nonroutine tests or analyses leading to the successful completion of developed experiments.
- Collaborates with Principal Investigators to develop and write novel research proposals and manuscripts.
Other Duties
- Performs as a backup to staff absences and vacancies as necessary.
- Serves as an institutional liaison for their lab as assigned by Principal Investigator.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: MD and/or PhD in biology chemistry cell biology immunology biostatistics computer science bioinformatics or other basic or translational science required.
- Work Experience: A minimum of five years of specified experience in technical investigatory techniques required. MD and/or PhD in a specified basic science field will suffice for 3 years experience.

Salary Range: $60000 $115000
