If so come join us as an Accounting Assistant supporting the Financial Management Branch at the Edmonton Police Service. You will get to apply your knowledge of accounting principles and practices to complete various deadline driven Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and perform general ledger account reconciliations. Responsibilities will include:
- Processing accounting transactions (corporate credit cards and nonPO invoices).
- Oversee the corporate credit card program.
- Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Standards and established policies and procedures.
- Carry out the requirements of the monthend and yearend cut off schedules ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations journal entries and other financial reports.
- Manage the EPS Finance Inbox and respond to customer inquiries

- Completion of a recognized accounting certificate.
- One (1) year of experience in an office environment with a focus on accounting functions.
- Knowledge of accounting and administrative procedures and regulations including GAAP FOIP and GST.
- Demonstrated advanced competency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail in high volume environments.
- Working knowledge of computer based financial systems. SAP would be an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and accurately under tight deadlines.
- Ability to contribute as a positive team player in a customerfocused service environment.
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent customer service while ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.

- As part of your prehire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per weekhours Monday Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.
Salary Range:
21M Salary Grade: 013 $28.12 $35.29 (Hourly) $1898.40 $2382.50 (BiWeekly) $49549.22 $62182.73 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
