This is a fulltime position (40 hours per week) with applicableStateBenefits.*
This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be selfmotivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.
This position provides programmatic and fiscal monitoring and stewardship of funds administered by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality. The analyst will review evaluate and audit subrecipients of federal and state awards and contracts for compliance accuracy and accountability in alignment with state and federal program requirements and DEQs business operations.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Independently evaluate subrecipients and awardees adherence to programmatic fiscal and operational requirements in accordance with the monitoring plan; provide guidance on corrective actions best practices and compliance with applicable federal state and departmental regulations.
- Review and evaluate financial records expenditure reports and grant transactions to ensure accuracy compliance and accountability.
- Ensure all financial and business activities comply with federal state and departmental regulations.
- Collaborate with finance and compliance teams to analyze grant expenditure and report trends.
- Collect financial data and programmatic input to prepare required internal and external reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

A Bachelors degree in accounting finance or business administration public administration or a related discipline from an accredited institution and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
