Job Description

We are seeking an organized detailoriented and dynamic Development & Events Coordinator to join our team in Baltimore. Under the direction of the Director of Parish Operations the role will support the Basilicas fundraising efforts donor management and event planning and execution while also assisting the Communications Manager with outreach and engagement initiatives as needed. The ideal candidate will be highly organized proactive skilled in donor engagement event coordination and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Functions:

Immediate Capital Campaign Management Needs

  • Function as a liaison between the Baltimore Basilica AOB Advancement Office CCS Fundraising and the Office of the Archbishop regarding the capital campaign
  • Manage communications needs for the campaign working with the Basilica Communications Coordinator to properly promote the campaign
  • Facilitate the operations of the Capital Campaign Committee in particular by scheduling meetings and taking minutes
  • Work with the assigned CCS team member on campaign management
  • Process and manage all received campaign donations

Long Term Development & Donor Management

  • Will manage all aspects of stewardship including coordinating a Stewardship
  • Advisory Council producing stewardship reports working with giving officers to develop and execute personalized stewardship strategies ensuring promises to donors are fulfilled and managing the process of recognition when appropriate.
  • Coordinates and tracks all recognition for donors at the Baltimore Basilica.
  • Verify recognition information that currently exists and update the system as well as develop a protocol for engaging donors on a regular basis regarding their recognition.
  • Send annual communication to all donors regarding their recognition.
  • Assist with the data entry research and tracking associated with the stewardship solicitation (when appropriate) and/or qualification of donors.
  • Develops special acknowledgements (as appropriate) for major donors and continually assesses and redevelops the acknowledgement process for the maximum benefit of donors.
  • Work closely with other AOB Advancement staff as needed to execute cultivation and stewardship events for individual or groups of donors.

Event Coordination

  • With the Director of Parish Operations plan and execute fundraising events and donor receptions.
  • With the Director of Parish Operations coordinate and execute the Sacred Music concert series and events related to it.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure seamless event experiences.
  • Track event budgets and assist with sponsorship outreach.

Communications Support

  • With the Director of Parish Operations aid the Communications Manager in strategizing content for social media and marketing materials.
  • Help manage website updates and digital outreach efforts.
  • Support media relations and promotional campaigns for Basilica events and initiatives.

Position Qualifications:

  • Two years of fundraising business or marketing experience.
  • A bachelors Degree is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to present ideas in a timely effective concise interpersonally appropriate manner both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude and teamoriented with a demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Personal computer skills and experience with Raisers Edge CRM and Microsoft Word Adobe Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in business development and business development strategies is helpful.
  • A practicing Roman Catholic who understands Church teaching and structure is preferred.

Salary: $25 000 $30000 Annualized
