Job Description
Summary
Supervises children in the child care area of the Wellness Center.
- Ensures children are accounted for and supervised at all times.
- Initiates and leads ageappropriate educational or recreational activities.
- Ensures the environment is in a safe organized and clean condition. Reports deficiencies to supervisor immediately.
- Cleans or disinfects toys equipment storage areas and play surfaces as scheduled and needed.
- Follows policies and protocols when accepting children into and releasing children from the child care area.
- Interacts with children and parents appropriately.
- Follows the organizations policies and protocols when caring for communicating with disciplining or rendering first aid to children.
- Ensures accurate record keeping of utilization reservations and tickets.
- High school diploma General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
- No experience required. Must be at least 18 years of age
- BLS Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position OR
- Heartsaver CPR AED required within 90 days of employment in this position AND
- FA First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment in this position
- Requires critical thinking skill and decisive judgment.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
